Abstract

Balancing work and life is significant for any employee to keep themselves motivated and to have a better work and personal life. This study investigates the perception of women employees regarding their quality of work life in urban hospitals of Bangalore. The research explores how women employees in this sector navigate the demands of their jobs while maintaining a fulfilling personal life, examining the impact of existing hospital policies on their work-life balance perceptions. A mixed-methods approach was employed, including surveys and interviews, to gather data on employee experiences, perceptions of existing policies, and desired improvements. Findings revealed diverse perspectives among different employee categories, highlighting the need for tailored approaches to enhance work-life balance. Key findings indicate a strong desire for flexible work arrangements, reduced shift work, and predictable work hours to better accommodate personal responsibilities. The study identifies specific workplace policies that significantly impact employee well-being and highlights areas for improvement. Recommendations include implementing more flexible work schedules, expanding access to childcare facilities, and enhancing support for employee health and wellness programs. Improving work-life balance for women employees is crucial for their well-being and contributes to a more positive and productive work environment, ultimately leading to better patient care and increased employee satisfaction.
